Oy. I have been a bit sick for the past few days. My nose is still stuffed. Oh! I have a funny video of June and Travis.
They bounce!
I went to see An Inconvenient Truth last night. I thought that it was very well done. There were some holes in his arguments, but I wish I could get that conservative kid in our Gov class to go see it. I'd watch whatever Republican propaganda he wanted me to watch, too.
I am actually kind of confident about Mock Trial this year. I think we have an excellent chance at.. well county finals at least. Our county is super-competetive and that's why county finals is hard to get to.
I love not caring about work. I hate that I don't know where I'm going to college yet. I just want to get notices from everywhere else... jeez, is that too much to ask?
Connie has a definite chance of coming up here the weekend of the 17th (February, that is). I really hope she does, that way she'll get a chance to know my family a bit better. Since I always go down to see her, I know her family better than she knows mine. And besides, then she'll get to hang out with my friends here in Livingston!
I've gone too long on this journal entry. Time to post.
uhh.. going through my list of songs.. trying to find one that is not foriegn language. Proving hard. I'll leave ye with Bob Sinclair's Rock This Party. Good mindless reggae. Especially good for juggling.
I had a captains meeting with Garzon. Met with Mary Ma, somebody who I feel has great potential but doesn't always live up to it. I've tried my best to be civil with her throughout this whole Mock Trial experience, and I believe that I have succeeded, even in the face of basically my whole team telling me that she's mad lazy. I think that sometimes she can be, though that she doesn't always want to be. I dunno, at least she sent out the email I told her to tonight. I'm being purposely vague because I don't wish to take these entries private.
So I'm not using Auto-Formatting in LJ anymore. I've decided that my html skillz can suffice for now. That retarded waste-of-my-time class Web Design has to be good for something, right?
I don't want to complain about my life. Everyone wishes for more time.
I was talking to Connie about friends, and having time to talk and interact with them. In some way, me starting this journal on a daily basis is a way to talk to my friends, and perhaps make connections with new people. I'm always proud of the accomplishments Connie has made, and the things she's done and does, but I wish she was more outgoing. I feel that sometimes she accepts the status quo. I'm still unsure of whether or not I want to do that. Whether my life after college equals graduate school and then an upper middle class business job. Where I send my kids to school at a school similar to the one I go to now. Is that what I want? I know Connie wants it. She does. I look at things like the Peace Corps or travel or becoming a journalist and compare it to my experience in Europe with Windsor Mountain. It's an adventure. I was almost going to write "A Last Adventure," but then, why would it be? Why can't I try to make a difference, instead of just amassing money?
It's a calculated risk to turn my life in that way, but isn't all business built on risk? I wish somehow I could reconcile both interests- to be somebody in the technological/business world, or go and experience the world. Would I even be someone if I were to go into business? Wouldn't I just be a cog in the wheel? *sigh* I don't know. All I know is that I have more questions after these questions. And questions after those.
On a lighter note, second semester is almost upon us! Right after those devilish midterms. But after that, I will be a second semester senior. Awesome.
yaaaa so late. Too late. This entry is, I mean. If I'm going to get into a habit, I think I need to do it daily. Or semi-daily, something like that I um.. got done with Mock Trial today at 8:20, a bit late. It was draining, all the witnesses know what's coming, I don't have anything to refute what their rebutals are, it just turns into a large argument. It was a good practice, just frustrating.
I ended up getting Connie cupcake earrings, and she weaseled it out of me, and was very happy when I told her. Ahhh she was squealing (in a good way squealing) in the way I call to my dog and it was funny and lovable and weird and good at the same time. I am going to go see her on Friday, and I need to talk to my Mock Trial Coach (Mr. Garzon) about the practice that day, because I think I have to leave early. I need to write a good reflective entry about Garzon one of these days. Maybe Sunday, when I get back from Collegeville. He's a weird fellow, and I think I know him better than most, seeing as I spend every Thursday afternoon until 6 with him. For Livingstonites, no, I am not like Garzon's bitch or anything, I just don't have a ride and as such I spend those afternoons before Mock Trial chilling/doing homework in his room. I'll tell the whole story sometime later.
I just read this account on a bodybuilding forum of this kid's experience at Burger King for 15 days. Some of it is fictional, but most.. blech. I feel really bad for Connie, she works at Wendy's. I tell her constantly to get a new job, but she doesn't. Hmm.. more about Connie later too. And her confusing family.
Music, right? Okay, so I'm not going to lie, I have a soft spot for foreign songs. I think the fact that 1. I don't understand it and 2. that the sound is different attracts me to them. So, Music of the day is El corral, also known as Yo Via Jase Un Corra, by El Koala. Link: http://www.radioblogclub.com/open/123427//El%20Koala%20-%20El%20corral
It's a Catalonian song (Catalonia is a province in spain)... I learned the low-down on it from a comment on www.youtube.com by Olafur101:
"The whole lyrics mean something. The title: "Dad, I'm going to build a farm". Your translators explode cause the song is in Catalan, not even standard Catalan but a very funny dialect with deliberate mistakes. The singer is a Catalan inmigrant living in Anlalusia who does fantastic self-parody, the lyrics are not fun themselves but the language he uses is totally brilliant. He was unknown and after that the biggest star in Spain. A great guy."
I thought that was pretty cool. The commenter makes reference to translators exploding because some people tried to put the song title through a translator, and well, it didn't come out with anything intelligible. I dunno, the song is fairly upbeat, and there is a music video on youtube which is like number 23 in most viewed. My song pick of the day, as it is still Tuesday.
I wish that I could voice post my daily conversations with Connie here, it would make LJ-ing much easier vis a vis telling people about life, or just general reflections on life.
Right, so I stumbled upon a really cool band. They're called Weepers Circus, and while I hate to post French bands two days in a row.. they're good. They do a lot with the clarinet, and it ends up sounding very dark sometimes. The introduction to this particular song sounds like part of the soundtrack from Banjo Kazooie.. the part where you're in the pumpkin zone. The place where it's a haunted house. (Somebody will know what I'm talking about). In any event, I couldn't find Banjo Kazooie anywhere, but here is the link for Weepers Circus, Un Revenant (A Ghost) http://www.radioblogclub.com/open/123426//Weepers%20Circus%20-%20Un%20Revenant .
I think the links might not auto-play anymore (annoying!) so you'll have to click on the song in the box to the right.
I got a call from these crazy kids from West Essex I knew from FBLA last night and ended up randomly going to the Landmark and chilling with them. It was pretty fun, I really appreciated that they called me up, and also that my mom was like "Yeah sure, whatever, I'll drive you there and back."
Samurai Sushi opened in Livingston last night and my mom and I were some of the first patrons. It was a soft opening (no like ads in the papers or big announcement, just opening) so there were a lot of friends and family of the place there. We were two of about 4 white people, so we had the waiters coming over just about every 5 seconds asking us how we were. Pretty funny. The food was good but not stellar, a bit overpriced too. I'd go there for lunch but that's about it.
The song will autoplay, it's called Du Rire Aux Larmes by Sniper. Also, about 3 songs down is Entre Tu Y yo by Papa A.P. Feat Linda. I enjoy that song as well.
Haven't updated in a while. I think I'll continue music updating frequently now that I know how.
What is there to say... Talked to Jessica last night. Went out last night and the night before. Feels like I haven't done that in forever. It'll be weird to go back to school and delve into responsibility once again. Though, after Mock Trial ends, I'll be a second semester senior. For all ye who are not LHS (Livingston, not Lynbrook) residents, Midterms are.. 18th 19th and 22nd.
You know, it's a little weird, I find that my brother and I write in a very similar voice. I remember he had a xanga a while ago, and it sounded exactly the way I sound now.
Having a long distance relationship is wonderful, but draining. I hate how we're both so obsessed with going to college together. That's not to say that I don't want to go to college with Connie, I do. I just don't want to think about what would happen if we went to colleges that were too far apart.
Any suggestions for a good anniversary present for her? I have my own ideas, I'd like to hear what the masses think.
I absolutely love www.radioblogclub.com and will continue to extoll its virtues until the end of time.
Hopefully this embedded flash player will work and you can all listen to this good song by this Israeli jazz-ish band. It's quite catchy, Ariela Lovett introduced me to them, they have some other good songs too.
These are the lyrics

hmm... I don't update this enough. Too much has happened in my life. I appreciate my LJ friends not taking me off their friend lists, if for the sole reason that it is my only window into some of your lives.
My daily routine has altered. I no longer am the instant messager fiend that I once was. My life revolves around when I will get to see my girlfriend next. The pains of a long distance relationship.
I want the college application process to end.
I hope that Jenn Eng feels better. Sometimes I wonder if some of my friends regard my attention towards them as annoying. Like Amy, for example. Or Abhijit, sometimes.
It feels weird to be happy that I'm in a relationship with an amazing girl, but at the same time feel unhappy that all of my other friends seem to be drifting away. I wish Connie would be closer to her friends as well; I would not feel that potential guilt should I eventually (but not going to happen) break up with her. I love her, but sometimes I feel I'm in too deep. I wonder how our relationship will go. I feel sad that I write so little as to have initially written "relationship" as "relashionship."
EDIT: Sorry Amy. I'm a tool.
I wish I had more money, and that I was better at spending it when I do.
P. Diddy now has a channel on www.youtube.com. One of the comments a user made on his first video, where he orders a Whopper from Burger king, reads as follows:
BK: What would you like to drink with your whopper? Diddy: I want some breast milk from a Cambodian immigrant. I only drink the finest breast milks. B-r-r-r-e-a-s-t milk. You make my d-a-a-y-a-a-y!
This was a discussion that went on between people who posted on lonelygirl15's latest video, once everyone found out she was fake. The first poster is responding to derekeano.
if you hate that she's fake.. STOP FUCKING WATCHING HER SHIT THEN.. god damn dude are you that fucking lame? do you have nothing better to do in your pitiful life than bitch and complain about somethin being fake?
Hi. I endorse nothing said in the quote that is about to commence, but just couldn't stop laughing. It really doesn't matter who said it, or where it was said, just read.
DELETE THIS SHIT RIGHT NOW U FUCKING HORSERAPING COCKJUGGLING THUNDERFUCK
Has anyone else read the bumpf on the Apple site about this?
A wonderful example:
"...you’ll find it incredibly easy to add memory to your system.
That’s because every Mac Pro comes with two memory riser cards, each with four fully-buffered DIMM slots. With a total of eight DIMM slots available, you can install up to 16GB of memory"
So, in summary - it's INCREDIBLY easy to add memory to your Mac, because it features, wait for it.. MEMORY SLOTS. I mean, fancy that. I tried upgrading my laptop by snapping a SODIMM in half and forcing it in the USB port, and now I see the error of my ways!
Furthermore, it features a "unique heat sink [which] lets fans run slower — and quieter — yet keeps the memory cool enough to run at full speed.". Clearly, this is totally UNIQUE! I've never seen a RAM heatsink before, in fact - I've never seen a heatsink used for the unique purpose of REDUCING HEAT!
Okay, so I've been wasting my time looking around at electronics and such over the past few days. In my travels, I have figured out (in my opinion at least) the best way to get hacking on the new Nintendo DS Lite. This piece of superb portable gaming equipment is an upgrade to the Nintendo DS, is smaller, has a brighter screen, and looks cooler.
I'm now writing a noob's guide. This noob guide does not include many of advanced concepts or explanations behind all this hardware, it just details a way to start running a few things.
NOOB GUIDE! This guide shows noobs the way to start getting the most out of your Nintendo DS Lite. (If you have earlier versions of the DS, all hardware listed is compatible.) With this guide, you can: 1. Run homebrew games on your Nintendo DS or DS Lite. 2. Watch movies/listen to MP3's. 3. Run Linux for the Nintendo DS/DS Lite
So, let's get started!
First, you need a Nintendo DS/DS Lite. Duh. Get one at Circuit City, Best Buy, or where-ever. They cost about $130 at the time of this writing (6/14/06).
Second, you need a "pass-through device." The reason for getting this device is a little complicated. I'll try to explain.
To run programs on your DS that are not official Nintendo games/official Game Boy Advanced Cartridges, you need this device. It lets the DS run DS programs through a cartridge that you put in the Game Boy Advanced slot. It does this by (well I really am not sure how, but let me give you a shitty explanation!) by-passing the Nintendo DS firmware (firmware is like an operating system, just for the DS) and trying to boot (boot means load an operating system) a DS game or operating system (like Linux! or it could be a media playing system) from the cartridge you will put in the Game Boy Advanced slot.
So, the pass-through device that you should use is Datel's MAX Media Launcher. I know for a fact that you can get it at www.cheapmod.net .Those guys ship from the UK, it costs about $35-$36 with shipping. This type of pass-through device is called a no-pass. It is called this for various reasons (if you really care, go look at the DS Linux wiki) but anyway, it fits right in your DS cartridge slot and looks nice. It also works like a charm. The only problem people seem to have is that the little notch that locks the DS cartridge into place is a little small, and the MAX Media Launcher may get stuck occaisionally. You can fix this by cutting it out a little more, but whatever. Deal! This device is fairly new, so there might not be alot in stock. Another device that is reportedly the SAME EXACT THING is called the SuperKey. The company that makes it has it's website here: http://eng.supercard.cn/ . A distributor list for the Superkey (which may or may not be in stock right now, it hasn't appeared much in the forums, though the MAX Media Launcher is definetely out there and can be bought) is on http://eng.supercard.cn/dealer.htm, go to the canadian one. The canadian store has a good reputation. It's http://www.kicktrading.ca/ . The SuperKey has not been reviewed as much as the MAX Media Launcher, so buyer beware.
Third, you need a flash cartridge. You need it to access cards where data is stored! Like music, movies, games, whatever. This is a cartridge that goes in the Game Boy Advanced cartridge slot, and there are a number of options for this one.
Because this is a NOOB GUIDE, I'm going to give you one option. It will work with the MAX Media Launcher and maybe the SuperKey.
You can buy the Game Boy Advance Movie Player v2 (GBAMPv2) at http://www.natrium42.com/shop/gbamp.html . Basically it is a CF adapter for the DS. It is cheap (yay!) about $28 with shipping, and works well. It says something about passkey and versions of DS on that page, but DONT REGARD THAT. DO WHAT THIS GUIDE SAYS AND EVERYTHING WORKS! the passkey is an outdate pass-through device that required SRAM. nobody cares about the passkey.
IMPORTANT- CHOOSE THE VERSION THAT WORKS WITH A CF CARD. IF YOU DO NOT, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO RUN LINUX AT THIS TIME. This is because linux does not have drivers for writing to the mini-sd or sd versions of the M3 perfect or Game Boy Advance Movie Player
You can also buy an upgraded version of the Game Boy Advance Movie Player, it is called the M3 perfect. Buy it from natrium42, it comes with some better movie playing software than the Game Boy Advance Movie Player and will also work with other pass-through methods, but don't worry about that. The M3 perfect is about 3 times more expensive than the Game Boy Advance Movie Player, so you should probably choose the cheaper one :).
Fourth, you need a CF card. This is to store data! (Finally we get to the data, the stuff that everyone likes!) Get it from Ebay, Circuit City, Best Buy, or where-ever. They come in sizes from a measly 8 megabytes to a ginormous 4 Gigabytes. Depending on how much stuff you want to store on the card, choose a 128 megabyte to 512 megabyte card. Those are the easiest to find and therefore the least expensive. Obviously the smaller the capacity, the less expensive the card. Try to find a Type I card, because I'm not sure if the Game Boy Advance Movie Player can use Type II cards or Microdrives. (CF=Compact Flash. It is a common type of camera flash memory card.)
Finally, Fifth, you may or may not need a CF card reader for your PC. If you already have a CF card reader from a camera, you don't need to buy another. You can get these at Circuit City, Best Buy, on Ebay, WHEREVER! They cost like 5 bucks. If you see one that has slots for other cards it will work as well. They're pretty much all the same.
So... You have all this stuff! What you do is you put the MAX Media Launcher from Datel/SuperKey into the DS cartridge slot, the CF card into the Game boy Advance Movie Player/M3, the GBA Movie Player/M3 with the CF card into the Game Boy Advance Cartridge slot, and start up the DS. You will see the MAX Media Launcher/SuperKey screen after a while, and then you will be confronted with the software that is on the GBA Movie Player/M3 Perfect. Right now you probably didn't put any data (games, movies, music, etc) on your CF card, but when you do (you do this by taking the GBA Movie Player/M3 Perfect out of the GBA cartridge slot, then the CF card out of the GBA Movie Player/M3 Perfect, then putting your CF card into your CF card reader, and plugging the CF card reader into your Personal Computer.) the software on the GBA Movie Player/M3 Perfect will recognize these files and play them easily! Have fun!
Notes: I use M3 and M3 Perfect interchangably in this guide. They are the same exact thing. GBA always stands for Game Boy Advance. I might also say Advanced. It is the same thing. Game Boy Advance Movie Player and Game Boy Advance Movie Player v2 are not the same thing (there was a version one), but in this guide both terms are referring to VERSION TWO of the Game Boy Advance Movie Player (GBAMP).
Also, remember that the DS can play all old Game Boy Advance games, and that all the homebrew that was made for the Game Boy Advance works for the DS. Just put it on your CF card and you're good to go.
Okay, I hope this was helpful to people. Hack Away!
okay, this dude on slashdot is talking about his ideal mobile phone. Mad Funny.
---- Please. I'm holding out for the artificial molar that allows perfect sound reproduction through bone conduction, and removes one of the last visual cues that distinguish me from a raving lunatic: a visible phone.
I'll walk down the street talking to myself, and smacking myself in the face whenever I lose signal, and (this is the good bit) I'll never get panhandled again. ----
Freaking Shendi has dragged me into completing one of these interview thingamabobs that I swore I wouldn't do in my youth... But in my old age (haha after 2 years of seeing these things you break down) here goes.
Her questions were: 1. Tell me about five of your all-time favorite songs. I have very eclectic song tastes... but I'll share. (These are in no order of like top 5, just the 5 that I like the most. They're equal.)
a. Sora (from the Escaflowne Movie) by Yoko Kanno/Hajime Mizoguchi - because I have no idea what it means, and because the images that I associate with it are so touching/moving. It's from this Japanese anime about suicide.. the movie explains the reasons for living. The song plays when angels dance. It's hard to explain, but very nice. You can see the imdb page here: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0270933/
b. Procession of the Spirits by Jo Hisaishi - another song from an anime soundtrack. Again, I really like it because of the poignant image of all the varied and multicoloured spirits coming off the ship as the song plays. It's a great song, too. It comes from the movie Spirited Away, which you can also find on IMDB (I'm too lazy to find the link this time:))
c. Pacific Island Music by Def Tech - it's a Japanese/English reggae band. The music is just really really really really upbeat. I like it because it's good juggling music, and not because it really moves me in my mind. It just moves my body!
d. A Nightmare Before Kefka by zircon - it's a remix of "Kefka's Theme" from the classic video game "Final Fantasy 6." Now, before you laugh, this is an orchestral arrangement. The guy who did the mixing turned it into something totally different. It's very varied and deep, and there are a bazillion little aural nuances in the song. It sounds something like an interesting/demented/haunted carnival with heroes and demons would sound. Lol, that explanation doesn't do it justice, go to www.ocremix.org and search for the artist "zircon". You'll see that and some other stuff, it's free and legal to download.
e. Simply Being Loved is More Than Enough by BT - this is a techno song, pure and simple, but while being technoy (lol, bad description) the lyrics are also very good and touching. I like it, anyways. It's good for juggling and contemplating. A good every-mood song.
2. Tell me about your favorite (non physical) aspects of being in a relationship. I like belonging. I've screwed up a relationship because I just wanted to be close to anyone and didn't really think about the person I was getting close to. But yeah, when you're with somebody, and you can just sit there together without having to talk about anything, and just be for each other, I love that the best. It's one of the things you can't find or make happen, it just comes. *le sigh*
3. Tell me where you want your life to be in ten years. I suppose I'll want to be working in a government job of some sort, I don't really know. I think college will make me a very different person. I found that I became a different person while I was on my European trip, it changed me. I think college will be like that, and I will like that very much. So I really don't know where I want to be in 10 years. Of course, there's the old standby: Flush with cash and with an incredibly hot wife/girlfriend!
4. Tell me about the qualities you most like and most dislike about yourself. I like the fact that I can take charge in a situation. I like the fact that I can keep calm in a situation. I like that I think logically about problems and will come to the most efficient solution most of the time. I don't like that I overthink things, especially in relationships. I'll keep extending my future simulation for what happens so far that I just get really messed up. I stop acting normally and make calculated moves that do not have the desired effect. I find it hard to be close to people, just regularly. I wish I had more people that I really trusted. I hate the fact that I'll take somebody's statement at face value and it will turn out to be false. I'm pretty gullible. Yeah, that's about it.
5. Tell me about the person you most love in your life. Jessica Malordy or Abhijit Dohale. Of course I don't love Abhijit like that, but I'm pretty close to him. Both of them are extremely smart, write very well when they want to (Jessica most of the time, Abhijit when he choses to), and I relate to both very well. I met Jessica when I was born, our mothers had La Maz (spelling?) class together. I've known her all my life, we had a slight haitus between kindergarden and eighth grade where we didn't keep in touch because she moved to Long Island. I think it was good for us, she never had "cooties" so I think our relationship from kindergarden endures. I really tell her just about everything that's going on in my life, and we're very in sync about the kind of stuff we do, and when we do it. We may not do the same activities, but we take the same roles in our respective friend groups and clubs and stuff. We even got girlfriend/boyfriends on the same weekend! Unfortunately, while I broke up with mine (distance issues+crazy mother of the girl, who is one of Jess's best friends) Jessica stayed with her boyfriend, and we haven't gotten to talk a lot (It is not bad that she's got a boyfriend and I don't have a g/f, it's bad that we don't talk! Lol I needed to clarify that). It's probably because we're both Juniors and have no time for IMing and stuff anymore, but still.. we really haven't had a down to earth conversation in a few months now. Anyway, on to Abhijit. He's a great guy, I first met him when we were sniffing tic tac boxes while waiting for school to start in middle school. He is my voice of reason, when I have a problem that needs to be resolved immediately, I will take it to him because he'll think it out logically when I am too angry or something to think straight. He is dependable, trustworthy, and will always be truthful to me. Also, he'll tell me how stupid I am. okay. Enough of that, I'm tired.
This should explain it all. This mock conversation is between a consumer and a tech guy who is trying to get the consumer to switch to Linux from Windows. ***********
Tech Guy: Here, Mr. User, we're going to give you a new operating system and a completely new set of applications with which to perform your duties.
Mr. User: OK! Tell me, what does it do that's new or useful?
Tech Guy: Well, it won't crash like Windows!
Mr. User: Well, but I've been using Windows XP now for about the last three years, and it doesn't crash much if at all. What else does this new OS do?
Tech Guy: Well, it has all new applications!
Mr. User: You mean it doesn't have Office 2003?
Tech Guy: Uh, well, no, it doesn't. It has this other application suite that's just as good! Maybe even better!
Mr. User: But it looks very different to me! The user interface will require me to get used to it, which will reduce my productivity for a little while. My existing documents might look different in this new suite. Further, all the advanced features such as macros probably don't carry over to this new app. That's a real bummer because I depend on those features to do my job. Does this suite do anything any better than Office 2003 that would allow me to offset this loss of productivity? In other words, is it giving me anything new to offset the costs of moving to it?
Tech Guy: Well, uh...it's free!
Mr. User: Hey, bud, I work in accounting. We saw the invoices for Red Hat Enterprise Linux and the office suite. You're paying for support for this stuff. It's not free.
Tech Guy: It's immune to viruses!
Mr. User: You said the same thing about the Mac's down in the art department, yet they're running anti-virus software, aren't they? And your buddy on the helpdesk told me that last week Apple patched 43 separate flaws in their OS, many of which allowed complete takeover of the Mac much like a Windows virus. Do you honestly think your new OS/app combo is going to be immune to all viruses over time? Besides, you bought anti-virus software for all the Windows PC's several years ago with annual subscriptions to virus patterns. We haven't been hit by a virus in a long, long time because of that. So, explain to me again what the advantages are here?
Tech Guy: But...but...listen here, you obstinate fool! It's better, I say! And don't you dare argue with me because I know more than you! I have the superior intellect here, and you're just a lowly, unintelligent (sneers) user.
Mr. User: So let me see if I understand you here. You want to give me something different, different enough that I'm going to have change my work habits in order to accomodate it. It's designed to fix crashing problems that I don't have. It's free but it costs money to support. And even once I get used to it all and it's all paid for, it won't do anything that I can't already do with the stuff we already have, that's already paid for, and that everyone is already trained on and familiar with.
Tech Guy: But it's better! It's open! I understand these arcane things in ways you cannot hope to comprehend!
Mr. User: Two words for you, buddy: de-caff. You should try it sometime. *************
This post was in reference to an article about how someone is suing Google for not cracking down on child pornography that they index. (In my opinion, the suit is totally retarded, how can Google regulate the whole fucking internet? Well anyway, check it out)
Slashdot Post: "I don't even understand why they bother using real numbers in these studies."
I can see it now...
The MPAA reports on a startling new study indicating that over 63 trillion gigawatts of elephants are being harvested anually as a result of DVD piracy. The study corrected for factors such as yellow, and the tootsie roll center of a Tootsie Pop, providing the first clear evidence of a connection between movie downlaods and the number 7.
Prom was a nice experience. It wasn't the "culmination of my high school career," but then again, I didn't think it would be. I realize that I was a bit confused when I asked Tamar to go to the Prom with me, but I've gotten it straightened out now. Though she's on the wild side, I can live with that. More than live with that, I can love that!
I'm very happy that I was able to go to post prom with the asian posse. It was very relaxing to forget about school, forget about where I had to be, forget about who had to pay for what, and just chill out with a bunch of people who weren't bickering with each other constantly. It was kind of like a recharge session before
AP tests. Which Blow the penis. They blow this penis -->www.pimpmygoogle.com (DO NOT CLICK IF YOU ARE SOMEWHERE PUBLIC) Yep, that's about it, because this weekend was straight up study. 3 hours on Saturday, and 4 on Sunday. Only 4 on Sunday (today) because we visited my great-grandmother. She's 98. She's really old, and has Alzheimer's, and doesn't really respond a lot. A little bit sad, but it can't really be helped. My mom goes more for her own sanity and not really because Eva (my great-grandmother) cares anymore.
In a semi-related topic, I feel estranged from Jessica and all my friends in Long Island. I know it's a situation of circumstance, but I miss her, and Amy, Sam, Heather and the rest of them. I suppose now that I'm going out with Tamar, I'll have even less time to go out to Long Island and the city to see them, but I wish I did.
slashdot quote about steve ballmer (one of the highest executives at Microsoft) not letting his kids use Google or iPods (because Google and Apple are competitors of Microsoft):

Slashdot comment on a story about how a clerk got mad at Diebold, the company that manufactures electronic voting machines:
No. It's written in a peculiar dialect. Let me translate.
Diebold has sold voting machines to Utah. Diebold is evil. They want to bully a poor innocent election clerk. Anything they do is eeeevil and their only aim in life is to subjugate democracy so that the evil Republicans win. They want to take away our democracy!!!11!!! The CIA is SPYING on us.
